What are the benefits of using the sauna?

Regular sauna use has been shown to improve circulation, detoxification, muscle recovery and immune function.

Cardiovascular - A workout without having to work out

Using a sauna raises the heartrate similar to moderate exercise, mimicking the cardiovascular effects of a workout.

Blood vessels dilate and blood flow increases which can have the benefits associated with better circulation.

Inflammation and immunity

Increased circulation and sweating helps remove toxins from the body and helps improve lymphatic drainage. Exposure to heat can help repair cells, better blood flow helps to reduce inflammation by decreasing inflammatory markers. An increase in white blood cells also helps the body fight off infections and increase immunity.

Reduced Stress and Better Sleep

Sauna heat and relaxation can encourage the parasympathetic nervous system to step up. Leading to deeper breathing, lower cortisol levels and a sense of calm, improved circulation and endorphin release contribute to overall relaxation and help to promote deeper and more restorative sleep.

Social and General Wellbeing

Our favourite part of Sauna is that it is considered a safe space, without distraction and electronic devices. Sharing a sauna with like-minded people can be quiet and reflective or promote conversation and a deep sense of connection. All this helps with our natural affinity as humans to interact which is where so much of modern life falls down.
